First option: Historic
route- By surface.
Route: BAHIR DAR, GONDAR, AXUM AND LALIBELA.
Transport: By SURFACE.
Duration: 13 days and 12 nights.
Day 01: Arrive Addis
Ababa. No hotel booking in Addis Ababa.
Day 02: Drive to Debre
Libanos monastery and Blue Nile Gorge. Overnight Debre Markose Shebel
Hotel.
Day 03: Drive to Bahar
Dar and p.m. city tour. Overnight Bahar Dar 3* Hotel.
Day 04: Full day Bahar
Dar. AM Blue Nile falls and PM boat trip on Tana Lake. Overnight Bahar
Dar 3* Hotel.
Day 05: Drives to
Gondar visit the castles and churches. Overnight Gondar 3* Hotel.
Day 06: Drive to Axum,
via Semien Mountains, Overnight Axum 3* Hotel.
Day 07: Full day city
tour of Axum. Overnight Axum 3* Hotel.
Day 08: Drive to
Adigrat en rout visit Yeha temple and Debre Damo monastery. Overnight
Adigrat 2* Hotel.
Day 09: Drive to
Mekele on the way Visit the Tigray rock-hewn churches (2-3 unique
churches) & Negash. Overnight Mekele 2* Hotel.
Day 10: Full day drive
to Lalibela. Overnight Lalibela 3* Hotel.
Day 11: Full day in
Lalibela visiting the rock hewn churches of Lalibela. Overnight Lalibela
3* Hotel.
Day 12: Drive to
Kombolcha on the way visit Hayk Stefanos monastery or Genete Mariam
semi-monolithic churches. Overnight Kombolcha 2* Hotel.
Day 13: Drive back to
Addis Ababa through Senbete. Farewell dinner party in one of the best
traditional restaurant with a folkloric show. No Hotel booking in Addis
Ababa.
Second Option:
Historic route- by Air.
Route: Addis Ababa,
Bahar Dar, Gondar, Axum and Lalibela,
Transport: By Air.
Duration: 9 days and 8
nights.
Day 01:
Arrive
Addis Ababa transfer to hotel. Afternoon city tour of the capital.
Including Entoto Mountains, with very nice view over the capital, and
church of St Mary. Then back to the city, for the National museum, and
different historical monuments. No Hotel booking in Addis Ababa.
Day 02: Fly to Bahir
Dar, and transfer hotel for check-in. If time permits, go to visit
Bezait palace, with very nice view over Tana Lake and Blue Nile.
Afternoon boat trip of about 3-4 hours on Lake Tana to admire the
beautiful monasteries over the lake’s islands. Overnight Bahar Dar 3*
Hotel (Tana Hotel or Dibe Anbesa Hotel)
Day 03: Morning drive
to admire the Blue Nile falls. Lunch in the two off Bahir Dar. Afternoon
drive to Gonder, city of castles and churches. Overnight Gondar 3* Hotel
(Goha Hotel or Fogera Hotel)
Day 04: Full day visit
of castles and churches in Gonder: visit the castle’s compound, the
Debre Birhan Sellasie church (light of Trinity) with wonderful murals,
the King Fasiladas bath, the old Usual monastery and the Empress
Mentewab second palace. View of the spectacular Semien Mountains from
Kosoye can be added. Overnight Gondar 3* Hotel (Goha Hotel or Fogera
Hotel)
Day 05: Early morning
after Breakfast, Drive to Debark (100km) on the way about 6km visit the
village of Fellasha where you will see the African Jewish. Then continue
to Debark- small town where you are going to have your Lunch and after
Lunch drive to the Semien Mountains to admiring
spectacular views over the Semien Mountains and drive back to Gondar for
overnight Stay in 3 * Hotel (Goha or Fogera Hotel)
Day 06: Transfer to
the Airport and Departure for Axum up on arrival after check-in to the
hotel, visit steles, different archeological sites, the bath and the
palace of Queen of Sheba, tomb of Kings and churches, among which in the
church of St Mary of Zion (where legend says is deposited the Ark of
Covenant, brought here from Israel by King Menelik I). Overnight Axum 3*
Hotel (Yeha or Remhai Hotel)
Day 07: Fly to
Lalibela, defined as the 8th wonder in the world, and
afternoon visit the first group of the rock-hewn churches. Overnight 3*
Hotel (Yemereha Hotel or Roha Hotel)
Day 08: Morning visit
one of the churches out of the town. We propose an excursion by mules to
the Asheten Mariam church, with spectacular views too. Or by car to the
cave church of Naktule’ab. In the afternoon after Lunch visit the
remaining second group rock-hewn churches in Lalibela. Overnight
Lalibela 3* Hotel (Yemereha Hotel or Roha Hotel)
Day 09: Fly back to
Addis Ababa, by admiring wonderful view. Afternoon visit the Mercato,
biggest open air market in Africa and souvenirs shops and farewell
dinner party in one of the best traditional restaurant in Addis Ababa
with Live traditional dance.
Third option: HARAR &
DIRE DAWA- BY AIR
Route: Addis Ababa,
Dire Dawa and Harar.
Transport: by Air.
Duration: 4 days and 3
nights.
Day 01:
Addis Ababa, city tour of the capital. Including Entoto Mountains,
with very nice view over the capital, and church of St Mary. Then back
to the city, for the National museum, and different historical
monuments. No Hotel booking in Addis Ababa.
Day
02:
Fly to Dire Dawa, city tour and drive for Overnight at Harar.
Day
03:
Morning visit Babile, the valley of marvels. PM Harar’s mosques,
churches, tombs, French poet Rimbaud house, market, Adere people
cultural houses. Evening hyena man performance.
Day 04:
Drive to Dire Dawa and fly back to Addis Ababa.
Fourth Option: AWASH,
HARAR AND DIRE DAWA- by Surface.
Route: Addis Ababa, Awash and Harar.
Transport: by surface.
Duration: 6 days and 5 nights.
Day 01: Addis Ababa,

Drive

Day 04: Drive to Harar.

Day 05.
Visit Harar (full day). Overnight Harar Belaynhe Hotel.
Day 06.
Drive back to Addis Ababa.
