Arrivals/Departures
Arrangements will be made to pick up
all participants on arrival at Bole International
Airport and transport them to their respective hotels.
Similarly, participants will be provided transport for
departure. To facilitate this, it is important that
those participants who are paying for their ticket
inform us of their itinerary, if they have not already
done so.

Visas
We are arranging for visas on
arrival. On arrival, look for the sign bearing "4th
Congress of the Association of African Historians"
and the persons responsible would help you with visas
and transport to the hotels.

Tickets
We are purchasing the tickets for
those sponsored by the National Organizing Committee.
Where there are Ethiopian Airlines ticket offices, the
ticket will be sent to you electronically. Where there
are no such offices, we are sending the ticket by DHL.
For this it is important that we get the physical
address (street number or telephone, including if
possible mobile phone number). This applies in
particular to those coming from Benin, Botswana, Burkina
Faso, Gambia, Niger, Morocco and Tunisia.

Meeting
Dates
As you can see from the Program, the Congress will take
place on 22-24 May. This is because the African Union
Commission wants the Conference halls for its own
meeting on the 25th of May. This has
necessitated some changes in the departure dates of
participants sponsored by the National Organizing
Committee, as you will discover when you receive your
tickets.

Accommodation
Most of the participants sponsored by
NOC will be staying at the Ghion Hotel, which is 10-15
minutes drive from the Conference venue. Particpants
from Mali and the following are staying at King's, a
walking distance from the venue: Anthony Asiwaju, Obare
Bagodo, and Ibra Sene. Transport to and from the venue
will be provided by NOC.

Meals
Breakfast is included in hotel
accommodation. Participants sponsored by NOC will
receive a certain amount to cover other meals, except
lunches during the Conference, which will be provided at
the venue. As we do not have foreign currency, all
allowances will have to be paid in local currency.

Registration
To avoid congestion on the morning of
22nd May, we would like to complete
registration of participants and distribution of the
conference pack at their hotels on the afternoon of the
21st, beginning at 4 pm. So please make note
of this.

Excursions
As we have not had enough people
interested in this, participants should make their own
private arrangements for post-Conference tours.
